Supporting our Troops

At Dorr Aviation we are committed to giving back to the brave men and women who serve and protect our country. In addition to our monthly donation to the Freedom Alliance, we also send care packages out to the troops on the front lines. We buy the supplies and then create and ship the packages directly from our office to nine local service men and women. We feel it's our duty to personally thank our troops and show them our loyalty and appreciation for their dedication.

5/20/10 - As part of our affiliation with the Freedom Alliance, we receive updates on who our contributions benefit. Included in this letter is an update on one of the recent scholarship recipients.

12/29/09 - After getting our Christmas packages, we received some wonderful correspondence from a few of our soldiers. Included in the communications was a letter from 1 Lt. Alexander McKenney, deployed to Afghanistan in July, another letter from SPC Nicholas Willis a 4th generation soldier and is serving in Iraq, and a photo card from a cousin of one of our employees who is also serving in Iraq. We were grateful to be able to send them a few extra goodies in their stockings this year so they know how much we truly appreciate the sacrifices they make each and every day.

6/16/09 - We received this letter from another local soldier today. SSG Matthew Lima is on his second tour of duty in Iraq. His letter provides us with fascinating examples of how life has changed since he was first stationed there in 2006. All of us at Dorr Aviation would like to thank Matthew for his bravery, dedication and heroism and hope to buy him a pizza when he’s back home!

4/23/09 - Another letter arrived today from one of our brave soldiers. Captain David Bruch gave us a glimpse at the world he lives in every day. It is a privilege to receive correspondence from each of these soldiers and for that we are extremely grateful. We appreciate hearing their stories and seeing the human side of this conflict. Thank YOU Capt. Bruch for your service to our country and come home soon!

4/9/09 - Recently we had the honor of receiving communication from one of the soldiers on our list of recipients of care packages. This letter was sent from Sgt. Ryan Remillard who is a Massachusetts native. Ryan is in the Marines and is serving his second tour of duty in Al Asad Iraq. A sincere thank you goes out to you Ryan and we can't wait to shake your hand and thank you when you get home!

2/25/09 - We received a letter from Sergeant Jesse Bruhn who is serving with the 10th Mountain Division in Baghdad. His story is extremely inspiring and insightful. Please find the letter attached. We can't thank you and your family enough Jesse, for your contributions, bravery and sacrifices. You are a true hero!
